Tableware
In the "platicXchange" project, we worked with students from the German University of Cairo (GUC) to develop an idea for tableware. Together with Sara Wagdy | GUC, Yara Reda | GUC, Frederik Wrede | HSOS, and Moritz Ebbrecht | HSOS, we produced three concepts.
The research
We started by investigating the dining facilities and food storage at our institutions in Cairo and Osnabrück. Then we looked for benchmarks and examined these systems. In the last phase, we considered materials that would work well with our product.

Concepts
We created the concepts using the previously mentioned multiple criteria of foldability, stackability and modularity. We also brought a variety of meals that needed to fit in our system.

Prototyping
After we had finalized our lunchbox design, we made the decision to construct a fast model. This provided us with the chance to handle and test our concept.
Our choice was to utilize 3D printing for our model. It is adequate for evaluation, stable, and quick. The excellent matt finish filament from Extrudr was used to print the tableware on the Ender 2. After that, we checked the model's functionality, added food and shot a few pictures.
